Guide to installing Nvidia video drivers (ForceWare and 3D):
(on Win XP 32-bit SP2 and 5, 6 or 7 series cards (with no SLI) - if You have Vista please look in the 3D forums under the Links menu - if You have a DualCore CPU then please look in the "User info menu" - "DualCore")
(if You have other configurations use: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d_stereo.html (red/blue or Zalman 3D) or http://www.iz3d.com/t-dcdriver.aspx (red/blue or iZ3D 3D)

Before You install - a story from the real life by a 3D gamer (me):
When I install the 91.31 FW + 91.31 3D drivers the Laser Sight is ON but doesn't show up and the games work fine in 3D. If I turn it OFF I get a BlueScreenOfDeath and have to reboot. If I install the 163.71 FW + 162.50 3D on the other hand, I have to turn the Laser Sight OFF otherwise the game freezes when I activate the 3D. This little story illustrates very well the beta nature of the 3D drivers from Nvidia - You have been warned! Don't pull Your hair out if You can't get it to work - go to MTBS3D's forum and ask - chances are other ppl have solved Your problems and they are allways glad to help. Again these drivers are not plug 'n play. If You get Your games to work in 3D remember to allways adjust the 3D before playing. This is very important.
Hopefully this works on Your computer - it does on mine.

Guide:
  1. disconnect from net.
  2. disable antivirus
  3. uninstall current video driver (remove Nvidia from add/remove programs in controlpanel) (also uninstall RivaTuner if installed).
  4. reboot
  5. as the reboot comes, after the quick memory test/HD recognition, hit F8 and enter safe mode.
  6. Win XP safe mode will autodetect new hardward and ask to install driver. Cancel.
  7. run Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper with filter for Nvidia (and ATI).
  8. quit and repeat step 4 and 5.
  9. install new video driver 91.31 (or 163.71) (ForceWare driver - not the 3D driver).
  10. reboot.
  11. start antivirus and connect to net (reboot if nessesary).
    This is the best way to completely remove an old driver and install a new.

  12. install DirectX
  13. install overclock tool Coolbits3D (not needed unless OCing).
  14. install monitor driver
  15. reboot (standard ForceWare driver in now installed).

  16. install Nvidia consumer 3D stereo driver 91.31 (or 162.50).
  17. reboot.
  18. if You have installed the 163.71 FW and 162.50 3D drivers do this registry change:
    Start - Run - type "regedit" - ok then find this folder: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
    and make/change these values:
    "ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
    "TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
    "CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000003
    "SedonaDisable"=dword:00000000
    using rightclick - new - DWORD value or/and rightclick - modify - value data - ok

  24. --- 163.71 only ---> stereo properties - Advanced stereo properties - set Laser Sight to Off for all games - apply <---
  25. stereo properties - stereo setup & test - set Monitor size (19"), --- 91.31 only ---> bits per pixel (32) <---, --- 163.71 only ---> Stereo Gamma Setting 1,20 <---,Stereo refresh rate (100Hz) and Resolution (1024*768) - vink Always use stereo refresh rate - ok - Set rate for all resolutions - Apply
  26. Launch test application - (test application appear in 3D) - escape
  27. Performance and quality settings - vertical sync - off - apply (Performance and quality settings - view: advanced settings - transparency antialiasing - supersampling - apply)
  28. (Clock Frequency Settings - Manual overclocking - I accept - Detect Optimal Frequencies (or set them manually) - vink Fan allways on - vink Apply these settings at startup - test changes - ok - Apply - ok)
  29. (Color correction - Apply color changes to: all - Color profile: Standard mode

    Gamma 1,00
    Apply - Ok)
  30. exit Nvidia controlpanel
  31. Adjust the monitor color to RED: max and BLUE: 67% or set screen color temp: 5000K-6500K on monitor.
  32. if You have DualCore and use the 91.31 drivers You have to use nHancer - see under User info menu - DualCore.
  33. Play a game in 3D. Activate/deactivate 3D by hitting Ctrl+T.(adjust using Ctrl+F3/F4 and Ctrl+F5/F6). I recommend 6-20% separation and then adjusting convergence (Ctrl+F5/F6) until the crosshair/scope ingame is united or until objects 0,1 meters away (in game) are aligned as one object. This is a good starting point.
